Throughout my internship I have been dreading the day that I have to bring up whether or not I will get hired, or if it will be extended, or if I am done for good. I had been trying to think of ways to tactfully bring up the subject with my boss (who sits across from me), but could never bring myself to actually say the words a loud. Then yesterday he sent me an e-mail asking if I wanted to get coffee on Friday, and I know it's to discuss this. He also included in the e-mail "you've done great here, keep up the good work." Now I could (and have been) taking this two ways.
1. He is giving me a clue about them wanting to possibly give me a job.
2. He is giving me encouragement to not lose steam, and say that they appreciate me, but they can't keep me, and want to be nice about it.
I am SUCH a girl. I'm terrified that this could be it, and then I have to figure out a plan in the meantime until I finish my other classes or find a fall internship ASAP.
Wish me luck tomorrow, and cross your fingers that they put me on salary.
Move over Broadway, here comes Courtney! Whoop whoop!
